Question on perspective?

I am a budding artist, and am currently making a sketch of an orchestra conductor. I am doing it from in front of him, as though I'm in the orchestra stand looking out. There is a balcony in the concert hall, and I wanted to put some flowers on it. You know, have a sort of vase on the outside of the guardrail of the balcony, with the flowers and greenery sort of flowing down it. Due to the angle the balcony is at due to perspective, I don't know how the flowers should go as they fall. Should they fall downward in relation to the bottom of the sketch, or downwards as the way gravity would pull them if the drawing were tilted and the balcony level? Neither one looks exceptionally good.
