Why is Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe a masterpiece?

It has such simple wording, the rhyme scheme is good, but the words chosen to rhyme are - once again - very simple. It is repetitive and lengthy, and some of the good imagery he uses are reincarnations of uses in other poems (seraphs mentioned in The Raven, for example), so why is Annabel Lee considered a masterpiece?
